The
eyes are the most important feature of the face, and usually the
first to change as we age. Excess skin and fat around the eyes can
make you look older, more tired, mad, mean, and generally worse than
you feel.
Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, is one of the most pleasing operations I perform. The extra skin of the upper lid can be removed, along with the bags under the eyes. The look of the entire face improves with eyelid surgery. Healing is quick, and the results are amazing. During your consultation, I can show you the effect that surgery can have on your face using computer imaging. In addition, I will show you many patients who have a similar preoperative appearance to yours, and then show you their actual appearance after I performed their surgery.
Surgery: Eyelid surgery requires local anesthesia, takes appx. 2 hours (for both upper and lower lid surgery), and you go home the same day.
Healing time: Ice or frozen peas are used around the eyes for the first 24 hours. Stitches are removed on the fifth day. Walking is started immediately, limited exercise starting at 2 weeks. You feel great, but the bruising around the eyes keeps people off work or away from social activities for 7 days to 2 weeks.
Pain level: Minimal pain, in fact, Tylenol® may be all the pain medicine you need. Rank=2 Pain information

Risks: The scar falls in the normal eyelid crease, so it is difficult to see after completely healed. People with a history of dry eyes may find this worsens after surgery. Other risks. Risk information
